About Bridges-Strong

Bridges-Strong is a nonprofit dedicated to bridging the gap between access to education and innovation. We provide engineering-focused educational programs for skilled adults in underserved communities, empowering them to become entrepreneurs and drive technological progress. Founded in late 2024, we are developing pilot programs to shape our future. Join us to make a difference in underserved communities through engineering education!

Internship Opportunity

We seek five talented interns to research and develop educational programs for underserved communities. This internship is perfect for high school seniors or college students passionate about STEM, especially engineering.

Key Details

  • Start Date: November 10, 2025

  • End Date: March 31, 2026

  • Duration: 5 months (includes a 2-week break in December)

  • Commitment: 4–6 hours per week

  • Location: Fully remote

  • Stipend: Unpaid; certificate of completion awarded

  • Application Opens: September 6, 2025

Eligibility

  • Enrolled as a high school senior or undergraduate student in a U.S. or international institution.

  • U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or visa holders preferred.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We seek self-motivated individuals who:

  • Are passionate about engineering, mathematics, data analysis, or research.

  • Work confidently within their limits and collaborate well in teams.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely.

  • Are fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish is an advantage but not required.

How to Apply

Complete the application form on Internship Winter 2025 starting September 6, 2025. If you don’t have a Google account, you will need to create one in order to fill the form. For questions, email interns@bridges-strong.org. Required materials include:

Essay Questions

  1. List relevant STEM courses (e.g., Physics, Statistics) and describe one skill or experience (e.g., coding, robotics, volunteering) that prepares you for this internship.

  2. Share an example of your involvement in a STEM activity (e.g., robotics club, science fair) and its impact.

  3. Explain your interest in supporting underserved communities and any experience with diverse populations.

  4. Information about a project or work sample showcasing research or problem-solving skills (optional).

Additional Materials

  • Transcripts: Unofficial transcripts from high school or college.

  • CV: A current CV (max 2 pages) detailing education, volunteer experience, skills, accomplishments, and hobbies.

  • References: Names and email addresses of two academic references. Inform them in advance, as we will request letters of recommendation due by October 24, 2025. Letters are confidential unless waived.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant coursework in STEM fields (e.g., engineering, mathematics, computer science).

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in engineering, research, or community projects.

  • Strong research, writing, and computer skills with attention to detail.

  • Alignment with academic and career goals.

Internship Responsibilities

  • Research and identify effective educational programs for underserved communities.

  • Collaborate with the Bridges-Strong team to design pilot programs.

  • Contribute ideas to shape our mission and initiatives.
