The power of Origami
We are learning about origami and its application to engineering and medicine and how chemists and biologists have used this ancient art to find, for example, how the ADN, proteins, and organs fold.
Our adventure on this topic starts with Dr. Otto Wilson Jr., professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC., who talks about origami in biochemistry and how everybody can benefit from practicing this art. Dr. Wilson states— One piece of paper, unlimited possibilities — giving us an idea of how powerful origami could be.
Origami not only helps disentangle the complexity of living organisms but also with concentration, spatial visualization, fine motor skills, and many more cognitive and brain functions.
The information provided in several videos within the Origami program will expand as we look more into its application in biomedical engineering and other fields.
Let us know if you have questions or an idea of where you can use origami to create something new.
